Grand Canyon National Park. 180 Degree Panorama

Multi-frame composited DV image. April 1999

When I was in the early learning mode with Photovista, I thought this would make a spectacular image. In fact, I found it disappointing. My time at the South Rim was limited and these images were made near noon. As a result, the flat, shadowless lighting does little to model the landforms. The image is quite deceptive, though. The images span well over a 180 degree angle of view. The canyon walls on the left and right of the "valley" are actually one continuous line, running to left and right of the camera.
