Ansel Adams said that the best time for landscape photography is during a clearing storm. That means that you have to set out to take your pictures *during* the storm.

The sun behind the clouds in this image increases the contrast to the limits of what the CCD imager can handle and significant colour shifting in the clouds has resulted from my attempts to manage this.
